NOTE

You can also close an open project by clicking the X button on the right side of the Ribbon. The Project Auto Save feature, available on the Save page in the Options dialog box, saves a temporary file at timed intervals. In this way, you can retrieve changes made to a project file if Project exits without saving them (e.g., due to a power failure or similar problem).

Procedures

1. Select the File tab. 2. Select the Close command.

Step-by-Step

Close a project.

If necessary, open the HOUSPRJ1.MPP project.

2. Select the Close command.

The project file closes or a Microsoft Office Project message box opens prompting you whether want to save the changes.

Select No to close the HOUSPRJ1 file without saving the changes.
