1. Double-click the summary task for the inserted subproject you want to unlink. The Inserted Project Information dialog box opens.

The Inserted Project Information dialog box closes and the subproject file is no longer linked to the master project.
Close DWELL18 without saving. Click No when asked to save changes.
C ONSOLIDATING O PEN P ROJECTS
Discussion
Instead of spending time inserting subprojects to create a master project, you can open all of the subproject files and allow Microsoft Project to create a master project for you by consolidating them. When you select the files, you can also specify the view in which you want them to appear in the new project file.
After you consolidate the projects into a master project, you can rearrange the subprojects just as you would rearrange tasks. Each subproject in the consolidated file is given a subproject number and all tasks within a subproject start with the number one.
