Lesson 2 – Working with Notebooks

S AVING N OTEBOOKS

The information in OneNote is always automatically saved. However, you may want to save the information in a different format. OneNote notebooks can be saved as a OneNote Package, which allows other viewers, even those who don’t have OneNote, to open the package. You can also save the notebook as a PDF or XPS file.

OneNote pages and sections can be saved in the following formats:

OneNote 2010-2013 Section.

OneNote 2007 Section

Word doc (.docx)

•

Word 97-2003 (.doc).

• • • •

PDF XPS

Single File Web Page (.mht file).

In OneNote 2016, the Save As command was changed to Export. When you open the Backstage View, Export appears on the left side menu.

Use the following procedure to save a notebook.

1. Select the File tab on the Ribbon. 2. In the Backstage View, select Export . 3. Select whether you want to save the current Page, Section or Notebook. 4. Select the Format you want for the saved file.
