If you delete a bookmark in the document, delete the gray, square brackets ( [ ] ) and their contents. When you delete the bracket and content, it deletes the selected text or bookmark object as well as the bookmark. Delete a bookmark without deleting the bookmarked item text by selecting the Delete button in the Bookmark dialog box.
After you delete a bookmark, use the same bookmark name to mark another item.

2. Select the Bookmark button in the Links group. The Bookmark dialog box opens.

3. Select the bookmark you want to delete. The bookmark is selected.

The bookmark is deleted from the Bookmark name list box and removed from the document.
