Lesson 3 – Applying Borders and Shading
NOTE Select a border style from the Borders tab in the Borders and Shading dialog box. To open this dialog box, on the Design tab in the Borders group, click the launcher arrow to open the dialog box. Make changes to existing table borders and shadings selecting the table. Select the Table Tools Layout tab. In the Table group, click Properties to open the Table Properties dialog box. Click the Table tab then click the Borders and Shading button. Select a table by clicking the table move handle. The table move handle, a square containing a four-headed arrow, appears when you point to the upper, left corner of a table in Print Layout view. Use the table move handle to move the table in the document.
P ROCEDURES 1. Select the table cells, rows, or columns to which you want to add a border. 2. Select the Design tab under Table Tools .
3. Click the Line Style button
in the Borders group.
4. Select the desired line style.
5. Click the bottom part of the Borders button
in the Borders group.
6. Select the desired border position.
