If necessary, switch to Print Layout view. Scroll to view the line below the first paragraph in the document.

1. Select the object containing the line you want to format. Sizing handles appear at each end of the line. 2. Select the Drawing Tools Format tab. The Format tab is displayed. 3. To change the line width, select the right-hand part of the Shape Outline button in the Shape Styles group. A gallery of available color, width and line styles opens.

4. Point at the Weight option
Click Weight
A list of available widths opens.
5. Select the desired line style.
Click 3 pt
The selected line width is applied to the line.
6. To change the line color, select the right-hand part of the Shape Outline button in the Shape Styles group. A gallery of available color, width and line styles opens.

7. Select the desired line color.
Click Orange, Accent 6 (first row, last color)
The line color changes accordingly.
8. To change the line style, select the right-hand part of the Shape Outline button in the Shape Styles group. A gallery of available color, width and line styles opens.
