C REATING S LICERS D ISCUSSION
Use Slicers to further filter the data in PivotTables. After creating a PivotTable, the PivotTable contextual tools displays the Slicers button on the Analyze tab. When you click the Slicers icon it will give you a list of all the PivotTable fields available. Use a check mark to indicate which fields to use for Slicers. In addition to quick filtering, Slicers also indicate the current filtering state by showing the labels which are active and greying out the non-filtered fields. This makes it easy to understand what exactly is shown in a filtered PivotTable report.
Slicer boxes appear with buttons you can click to filter the PivotTable data. You can modify these boxes with Slicer styles, resizing to fit labels, and adjusting how the slicer labels are displayed in columns
