1. To freeze both row and column headings, place the active cell in the cell directly below the column headings you want to freeze and to the right of the row headings

Click cell B3

you want to freeze. The cell is selected.

2. Select the View tab.

Click View

The View tab is displayed.

3. Select the Freeze Panes button in the Window group. The Freeze Panes button opens.

4. Select Freeze Panes .

Click Freeze Panes

The rows above and the columns to the left of the active cell are frozen

Scroll the worksheet to the right until column I appears to the right of column A and then scroll down until row 24 appears under row 2. Notice that rows 1 and 2 and column A do not scroll.

U NFREEZING THE P ANES  D ISCUSSION After you have frozen headings in a large worksheet, you can unfreeze the panes. Unfreezing removes the panes so that title rows or columns are no longer frozen on the screen.  P ROCEDURES 1. Select the View tab. 2. Select the Freeze Panes button in the Window group. 3. Select the Unfreeze Panes command.  S TEP - BY -S TEP Unfreeze the panes in a worksheet so that the row and column headings are no longer frozen.
