Lesson 4 – Editing Presentation Masters

PowerPoint 2016 allows you to create and insert multiple Slide Master sets in a presentation. You can insert a new slide master in Slide Master view. Once inserted, you can determine how you would like to design it. When you insert a new slide master, you can also add a new title master, if desired.

When you have more than one set of masters, it is useful to be able to rename them. This allows you to refer to the custom names when collaborating with others. Once renamed, the new name displays on the Status bar where the Theme name typically appears. To rename a Slide Master set, right-click on the Main Slide Master, and select Rename Master

from the shortcut menu, type a new name, then click Rename

Any Masters you insert in addition to default set, are automatically preserved. An icon of a push-

pin

indicates that a Master is preserved. They are not deleted, even if you delete all slides

formatted with them. You can, however, manually delete a master, if desired.
