1. Access the Backstage View.

The Picture options list box appears.

2. Select the Picture option list. A list of sizing options appears.

Click Resize large images when I send a message

3. Select the Send button.

The message is sent with the selected attachment options.

You should receive a My vacation message in your Inbox. Select the message and notice that the size of the attached picture file has been reduced to 22 KB .

Discussion

An Outlook Item is any item created in Outlook: E-mail, Appointment, Task, Contact, Note. This type of attachment is handled differently than a regular file attachment.

The recipients can then drag the item from the incoming message window to any of their own Outlook folders. Another advantage of sending Outlook Items is that you have all the historical information from the original items.
