You can change Microsoft Project’s default settings before starting a project or as you create and modify a project. The changes you make to most settings apply to the current project only, unless you select the Set as Default button. Select and modify options on the following pages in the Options dialog box:

On this page, you can set options to specify User Interface Options, Project View and Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office On this page, you can set the Calendar (Georgian), Currency options, Show indicator and option buttons and show the Entry Bar. On this page, you can set for the Calendar, Schedule options, Schedule Alert Options, and calculation Options On this page, you can specify what fields you want Microsoft Project to check for spelling and if you want words in uppercase or with numbers ignored. You can also specify if you want suggestions for correct spelling and if these suggestions can be found in the user dictionary, in addition to the standard dictionary. On this page, you can set the default file type for saving files and change the storage location of the various project file types. You can also enable Auto Save, set Auto Save settings, and control database save options. On this page, you can specify Editing languages and display languages. On this page, you can set additional options for Wizards, general editing, display and calculation.

NOTE Even if you do not select the Set as Default button, some options are system settings that automatically become the default for new or existing projects. For example, if you change the Show assignment units as a: option on the Schedule page, it is automatically set as the default.
