Lesson 3 – Working with Lists

ACTIVITY: A DDING AN I TEM TO A L IST

Before You Begin You should be logged into the classroom SharePoint site, and your browser should have the Developer Team Site page open. Scenario Because this is your first day at your new company and working on your new project, your supervisor has asked you to take care of some administrative tasks. She's asked you to add your contact information to the contacts list for your project, and to schedule a New Employee Orientation meeting that she will conduct for you and other new employees hired for the project. She's also asked you to share a quality control document that you brought with you from your previous job with members of the team. Finally, she's asked you to post a link to a website you mentioned that could be useful as a reference for the project. You will add items to the lists on the Project Orange site to accomplish these tasks.

1) Access the Project Orange Team Site. a) In the Quick Launch area, under Subsites, select Project Orange.

2) Add your contact information to the Orange Contacts list. a) On the Project Orange page, select Orange Contacts.

NOTE

You may need to scroll the window in order to see Orange Contacts on the right side of the page.

b) On the Orange Contacts page, select new item to display the new contact list form. c) In the Last Name box, type d) In the Email Address box, type @ develetech.com e) In the Company Name box, type Develetech f) In the Business Phone box, type a phone number. g) Select Save.

NOTE

You can use the Save button at the bottom of the page or the one on the EDIT ribbon tab.

h) Observe your contact information in the list.
