Project 2013 Introduction

Lesson 3 – Working with Tasks

Project 2013

E DITING R ECURRING T ASKS

Discussion

A recurring task is made up of subtasks that represent each occurrence of the recurring task. You can edit the recurring task, which will affect all subtasks, or you can edit the individual subtasks. This feature is helpful as schedules change. For example, if you scheduled a recurring task for every Monday and a few members of the project team took a vacation day on the same Monday, you could reschedule the subtask for another day. Changes to subtasks are made in the Task Information dialog box. Depending upon what part of a subtask you edit, the changes will remain or be overwritten if you later make changes in the Recurring Task Information dialog box. If you change the duration or name of a subtask, the changes will remain even if you later change this information in the Recurring Task Information dialog box. If you change the date of a subtask and later change the date in the Recurring Task Information dialog box, the change will be overwritten.

NOTE You can also open the Task Information dialog box by clicking the Task Information or Recurring Task Information .
