Discussion
After assigning initial resources to a task, you may later decide to add (or remove) resources. Changing the number of resources assigned to a task can affect either the duration or the amount of work calculated. When you add a resource to an existing assignment, Microsoft Project displays a smart tag next to the task, which when clicked, displays a list of alternative actions. You select the action that achieves the result you want to obtain by adding a resource. The work provided by additional resources is calculated differently depending upon which of the three alternatives you choose.
