If necessary, switch to the Gantt Chart view and drag the split bar as far right as possible.
Apply the Entry table. Notice that the 4 Draft Proposal task is recorded as starting on 6/21/16 and finishing on 6/23/13. This task, however, started early and finished late. Apply the Tracking table.

1. Select the Act. Start field for the desired task.
Click the Act. Start field for the 4 Draft Proposal task.
The Act. Start field is selected for the desired task.
2. Enter the actual start date for the task. The actual start date appears in the Act. Start field. 3. Select the Act. Finish field for the desired task.
Type 6/20/16.
Click the Act. Finish field for the 4 Draft Proposal task.
The Act. Finish field is selected for the desired task.
4. Enter the actual finish date for the task. The actual finish date appears in the Act. Finish field.
Type 6/28/16.
5. Press [Enter] .
Press [Enter].
The date is entered into the field, the task is marked as 100% complete, and the actual duration appears in the Act. Dur. field.
Practice the Concept: Enter the actual start date of 7/1/16 for the 5 Request Bids task. If necessary, display the Task ribbon and mark the 5 Request Bids task as 100% complete. This task started late due to the late finish of the 4 Draft Proposal task. However, the task was finished on time (i.e., according to the scheduled task duration of one week).
