3. Click on
in the Drawings group of the Format ribbon.
4. Click the desired line, shape or text box button on the Drawing tool. 5. Drag to create the line, shape or text box in the desired location. 6. Enter the desired text for the text box, if applicable. 7. Click outside of the object to deselect it.

Use the Drawing tool.
If necessary, switch to the Gantt Chart view.
Scroll to view the task bar for the 14 Smooth Foundation task, leaving approximately two and a half inches of blank space to the left of the task bar. Click the Drawing button in the Drawings group of the Format ribbon.

1. Click the Drawing button in the
Drawings group on the Gantt Chart Tools ribbon. The Drawing short menu appears.

2. Select the Text Box tool

Your mouse pointer changes into a thin cross.

Drag to draw a rectangle, approximately one inch high and two inches wide, to the left of the task bar for the Smooth Foundation task. Type Overtime shortened the duration of the Smooth Foundation task.
3. Drag to create the line, shape, or text box in the desired location. A dotted line indicates the size and shape of the object, and then the object appears in the view. 4. Enter the desired text for the text box, if applicable. The desired text appears in the text box.
