Lesson 3 - Assigning Costs
Switch to the Resource Sheet view and scroll to the bottom of the resource list. Switch to the Gantt Chart view. Split the window to display the Task Form view in the bottom pane. Activate the bottom pane and use the Details group on the Format tab to apply the Cost format to the bottom pane.

Practice Data
1. Select the task in the top pane to which you want to assign a fixed resource cost. The desired task is selected. 2. Click in the Resource Name field in the bottom pane.
Scroll as necessary and click the 25 Initial Plumbing task in the top pane. Click below the Plumber resource in the bottom pane.
The first empty cell in the Resource Name field appears with a border and a down arrow.
3. Select the Resource Name list. The resource name appears in the bottom pane. 4. Select the desired material resource assigned a fixed cost. The resource is selected.
Click ResourceName

Scroll as necessary and click Permits.
5. Select OK .
Click

Adds the Permit Resource to the Task Form.
Type 200.
6. Select the Cost field for Permits. The cost field is ready for editing on the Task Form.
7. Select OK .
Click
.
Adds the cost for the Permit to the Task Form.
Practice the Concept: Select the 26 Initial Electricity task and assign the Permits resource with a new cost of $200 . Again, notice that the duration of the task did not change.
Remove the split.
