P ACKAGING A P RESENTATION FOR CD D ISCUSSION
Once you create a presentation you may want to move the presentation to different computers depending on where you are presenting. The obvious way to do this is to save the presentation to a CD or DVD. This can, however, be problematic as you cannot always ensure that the computer you re-open the presentation on will have PowerPoint installed. It can also cause a problem if you have linked your presentation to other files, used non-standard fonts or media files.
The easiest way to avoid these problems is to use the Package for CD feature in Microsoft PowerPoint. This automatically saves and copies all associated files and objects to ensure your presentation appears as you planned on any computer.
While many newer computers don’t have a CD drive, you can use the Package for CD tool to “package” the files into a folder for use on any computer from which you can access the folder.
