Lesson - Formatting Outlook Messages

NOTE Outlook 2016 has a different ‘Attach File’ button than previous versions of Outlook. This new button displays a list of Recent Files, as well as ‘ Browse Web Locations ’ and ‘ Browse This PC ’, but no option to ‘ Insert a file as text’ . The old button is available, but you must customize your Quick Access toolbar or Ribbon to use it.

To add the button

to your Quick Access toolbar, select

the File tab , then click Quick Access toolbar . Change the drop-down menu to , then Options

All Commands , which is where you’ll find the old button. It . Once added to the Quick Access toolbar, it looks like this: looks like this in the All Commands list:

P ROCEDURES 1. Position the insertion point in the message box where you want to insert the document text.

2. Select the Message tab, if necessary.

3. Select the Attach File button

on the Quick Access toolbar .

4. Navigate to the appropriate drive and folder in which the file is stored.

5. Select the file you want to insert.

6. Select the right-hand part of the Insert button .

7. Select the Insert as Text command.
