If necessary, scroll down in the view area (right pane) until you can view tasks 12 through 21.
Steps
Practice Data
1. Select one or more tasks you want to indent or outdent. The tasks are selected. 2. On the Task tab in the Schedule group, click the Indent button. The tasks are indented and the Gantt chart changes to display the summary task bar. 3. Select one or more tasks you want to indent or outdent. The tasks are selected.
Drag to select the 12 Pour Foundation task through the 21 Drywall task.

Drag to select the 2 Conduct Site Survey task through the 10 Select Subcontractors task.
4. On the Task tab in the Schedule group, click the Indent button.

The tasks are indented and the Gantt chart changes to display the summary task bar.
Click anywhere to deselect the subtasks. Notice that the 11 Build Foundation task is now a summary task. Also notice that the summary task duration reflects the total duration of its subtasks. Since we haven’t scheduled any tasks yet, the current summary duration equals the duration of the largest subtask.

Outdent the following tasks:
13 Construct Frame . 17 Build Infrastructure .

Notice that the 13 Construct Frame and 17 Build Infrastructure tasks are now summary tasks. Scroll as necessary to view the Gantt chart for the summary task bars.
