Lesson 4 – Integrating with Microsoft Office

ACTIVITY: S YNCHRONIZING C ALENDARS , D OCUMENT L IBRARIES AND L ISTS FROM S HARE P OINT TO O UTLOOK Before You Begin You should be logged onto the classroom SharePoint site, and your browser should have the SharePoint Developer Team site home page open. Scenario Now that you have access to the content you need in SharePoint, you want to synchronize it with Microsoft Outlook so that you can access the most important and frequently used information directly from Outlook. In this activity, you will synchronize lists and libraries with Outlook and view and access SharePoint items from within Microsoft Outlook. 1) Synchronize a document library with Outlook. a) In your web browser, in the Quick Launch area, select Team Documents. b) Select the C++ and C Sharp developer standard document. c) In the Microsoft Word Web App, select the EDIT DOCUMENT tab, and select Edit in Word. d) The document is opened in Microsoft Word in read-only mode. Minimize Microsoft Word.

e) In your web browser, a window is open explaining that your document is being opened in Microsoft Word. Select My document opened successfully, close Word Web App.

f) On the Team Documents page, in the ribbon, select the LIBRARY tab, and then in the Connect and Export group, select Connect to Outlook.
