Lesson 3 – Working with Lists

ACTIVITY: M ODIFYING AND S AVING L IST V IEWS

Before You Begin You should be logged into the classroom SharePoint site, and your browser should have the Project Orange Home page open. Scenario As you continue to use your SharePoint team site, you've decided that you want to change some of the views on some of the lists, to help you work the way you like, and see the information presented differently. In addition, your supervisor has asked you to extend the New Employee Orientation meeting. You will create and modify some views for lists in the Project Orange site and observe the results.

1) Change your default view for Orange Contacts to Datasheet View. a) On the Project Orange home page, select Orange Contacts.

b) On the ribbon, select the LIST tab, then in the Manage Views group, select Create View. c) On the View Type page, observe the types of views available. d) Select Datasheet View. e) On the Create View page, in the View Name box, type Datasheet f) In the Audience section, select Create a Personal View.

NOTE

In this activity, you will be creating personal views. You will see that there is an option to make a view the default view. Because only public views can be made default views, you will not be able to make the views that you create default views.

g) Select OK. h) Observe the new view in the Orange Contacts list.

2) Navigate in Datasheet View using arrow keys. a) Select the cell with the Last Name of Francis.
