Lesson 4 – Integrating with Microsoft Office
ACTIVITY: W ORKING WITH O FFICE 2013 D OCUMENTS IN S HARE P OINT 2013 Before You Begin You should be logged onto the classroom SharePoint site, and your browser should have the SharePoint Developer Team site home page open. Scenario In your new job, your primary productivity tools will be Microsoft Office applications. Because SharePoint will be the primary collaboration tool, it's important that Office and SharePoint work well together. In this activity you will access documents and data stored in SharePoint from Microsoft Word, and save documents to SharePoint from Microsoft Word. 1) Access files in Office applications directly from SharePoint. a) In the Quick Launch area, select Team Documents. b) In the ribbon, select the LIBRARY tab, then in the Connect and Export group, select Connect to Office.
NOTE
Be sure to select the Connect to Office button, not the drop- down arrow. Connect to Office allows you to add shortcuts to the document library from your Office applications for ease of access.
