TOPIC B: M ANAGE D OCUMENT V ERSIONS THROUGH O FFICE 2013 Microsoft Office applications allow you to easily take advantage of SharePoint content management features. In this topic, you will view version history, work with multiple versions of documents in Microsoft Office, check documents out and into SharePoint, and request deleted items be restored. D OCUMENT V ERSIONING IN S HARE P OINT SharePoint can store multiple iterations of documents and allow you to view, compare, and restore previous versions of documents if you need to. Document versioning must be turned on for each document library, and different document libraries can have different versioning settings. Accessing the version history for a document allows you to see the versions available, the dates each version was modified, and who made the modification, and the document size. There are three versioning settings in SharePoint Document Libraries.

No versioning
No earlier versions are saved, earlier versions of documents cannot be retrieved. Numbered versions of documents are stored using a simple versioning scheme. Every time the document is saved, a new version is created.
