Lesson 3 – Adding and Configuring Libraries

Before You Begin You should be logged into your Human Resources site. Scenario Now that your team Human Resources is set up, you need to add some content repositories to meet the needs of your team. The first thing you will do create the Document libraries for your team site. In this activity, you will create the document libraries needed on your site. 1) Add a Policies and Procedures document library.

a) In SharePoint, select Site contents from the Quick Launch. b) Under List, Libraries and other Apps, select add an app . c) Select the Document Library tile. d) In the Name field, type pnp . e) Click Create . f) In the Quick Launch, under Recent, click pnp . g) Observe “pnp” in the URL.

2) Rename the Library. a) Click the Library tab and click the Library Settings button. b) Under General Settings, click List name, description and navigation . c) Clear out the Name field and type Policies and Procedures . d) In the Display this document library on the Quick Launch? field select Yes . e) In the Quick Launch, click Policies and Procedures . f) Observe “pnp” in the URL. 3) Upload and Edit a document to the Policies and Procedures library. a) In the Quick Launch, click Policies and Procedures . b) Click the Upload button. c) Click the Browse button, navigate and select C:\Student\SharePoint2013\Adding and Configuring Document \Vacation Policy.docx. d) Click OK . e) Right-click the Open Menu (…) next to the Vacation Policy document and select Open in Word . f) At the beginning of the second numbered item, change the text Two years to Three years . g) Save and close the document.

4) Add a Resumes document library. a) In SharePoint, select Site contents from the Quick Launch.
