ACTIVITY: C ONFIGURING N AVIGATION O PTIONS Before You Begin You should be logged into your Human Resources site. Scenario
You would also rename the Top Link’s link to the Human Resources site and add an additional link. You want to your Fall Conference site to inherit the Human Resources Top Link bar to streamline the navigation from your Human Resources site and its subsites. In this activity, you will review all navigation options.
1) Rename a Top Link a) On the far right if the Top Link bar, click EDIT LINKS . b) Click the Human Resources link. c) Type HR Home . d) Press Enter .
2) Add a new Top Link a) On the far right if the Top Link bar, click +link . b) In the Text to display field, type Corporate . c) In the Address field, type http://www.officeproinc.com or your organizations website . d) Click OK . e) On the far right if the Top Link bar, click Save . f) Observe the HR Home link. g) Click the Corporate link. h) Click the browser’s Back button.
3) Reorder links on the Top Link bar a) Click the Settings button from the top-right b) Click Site settings . c) Under Look and Feel , click Top link bar . d) Click Change Order . e) Change the Link Order for Corporate to 2 . f) Click OK .
4) Inherit Parent Site’s Top Link bar a) On the far right if the Top Link bar, click Fall Conference . b) Observe the different links in the Fall Conference’s Top Link Bar c) Click the Settings button from the top-right d) Click Site settings . e) Under Look and Feel , click Top link bar . f) Click Use Links from Parent . g) Click OK .
