Step-by-Step

Assign cost resources to a task.

If necessary, switch to the Gantt Chart view.

Select the 2 Conduct Site Survey task in the task list and then view the bar for this task in the Gantt chart. Notice that the 200% Surveyor resource is already assigned to the task and the duration is 1 day .

1. Click the Assign Resources button on the Resource tab. The Assign Resources dialog box opens. 2. Select the task in the task list to which you want to assign a material resource. The desired task is selected. 3. In the Assign Resources dialog box, select the corresponding field in the Units column for the material resource you want to assign to the selected task.

Click the 2 Conduct Site Survey task in the task list, if necessary.

Scroll as necessary and click the Cost field for the Fees resource.

The Units field for the appropriate resource is selected and a spin box appears in the field.

4. Enter the desired value in the Units field and if applicable, include the time label. The desired value, along with the appropriate time label, appears in the Units field.
