Lesson 12 – Using the Navigation pane
NOTE The Select Browse Option gallery provides links to navigate to various items in a document (such as graphics and tables). Use these buttons to navigate long documents.
P ROCEDURES
1. Select the View tab . 2. In the Show group, add a check to display the Navigation pane . 3. Type the text you want to find in the Search Document field. 4. Click the Results listed in the Navigation pane .
S TEP - BY -S TEP From the Student Data directory, open Find Exercise.DOCX . Use the search feature to find text in a document.
If necessary, go to the top of the document.

1. Select the View tab.

The View ribbon appears.
2. In the Show group, check the Navigation pane option. The Navigation pane appears. 3. Type the text you want to find in the Search Document field. The text appears in the field.

4. Click Headings.
Click Headings
The Navigation pane highlights headings where your search term appears. Click the heading to navigate to that part of the document.
5. Click Pages.
Click Pages
The Navigation pane displays pages where your search term appears. Click the page icon to navigate to the page.
