Lesson 11 – Using Footnotes and Endnotes

the footnote or endnote, double-click the note reference mark to return to the corresponding note reference mark in the document text.

NOTE To quickly insert a footnote or an endnote with their associated default settings, use the Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote buttons in the Footnotes group on the References tab. Make changes to the default options later by using the Footnotes launcher arrow to open the Footnote and Endnote dialog box. Type or select a custom reference mark in the Custom mark box in the Footnote and Endnote dialog box if you prefer not to use numbers.

P ROCEDURES

1. Switch to Draft view. 2. Position the insertion point in the text where you want to add a note.

3. Select the References tab . 4. In the Footnotes group, select the launcher arrow . 5. Under Location , select the desired type of note. 6. Select the Format options, as desired.
