Lesson 11 – Using Footnotes and Endnotes

8. Enter the desired note text. 9. Select the Close button in the Footnotes or Endnotes pane, as appropriate.

S TEP - BY -S TEP From the Student Data directory, open PACK18.DOCX . Insert a note.

Switch to Draft view using the View Shortcuts button on the status bar.

1. Position the insertion point in the text to where you want to add a note. The insertion point is placed in the desired location.

2. Select the References tab. The References tab appears.

3. In the Footnotes group, select the Footnotes launcher arrow. The Footnote and Endnote dialog box opens. 4. Under Location , select the desired type of note. The Footnotes option appears. 5. Select the Numbering list under Format . A list of available options appears.

6. Select the desired option.

Click Continuous

The appropriate option is selected.

7. Select Insert .

The Footnote and Endnote dialog box closes. The note reference mark is placed at the insertion point and the Footnotes pane opens.

8. Enter the desired note text. The note text is entered in the Footnotes pane.
