off. To turn on the top tier select Three tiers from the drop-down under Timescale options .

Format the timescale by adjusting the units, labels, alignment, and other settings for each tier. In addition, if you display years, you can use the fiscal year instead of the calendar year. By default, the fiscal year is set to start in January; however, you can adjust this default as necessary. You can also display both the calendar year and fiscal year, if desired.

When you point to an area of the timescale, a ScreenTip displays the complete information for the area. For example, if you point to the letter S on the bottom tier of a timescale that is set to display days, the ScreenTip displays the date.

The Timescale dialog box

NOTE To change fiscal year settings, select File > Options > Schedule . By default, the Use fiscal year option is selected in the Timescale dialog box. If you display years and do not want to use the fiscal year settings specified in the Options dialog box, deselect this option. You can use the Non-working time page in the Timescale dialog box to change the appearance of nonworking time on the Gantt chart.
