Lesson 3 – Configuring Site Settings, Navigation and Search
ACTIVITY: C ONFIGURING N AVIGATION O PTIONS Before You Begin You should be logged into your Human Resources site. Scenario
You need to remove unnecessary links from the Quick Launch, add a library not linked and add external link. You would also like to reorder the links. In this activity, you will configure the Quick Launch.
1) Link an existing list or library on the Quick Launch. a) In the Quick Launch, click Site contents . b) Click the Site Pages tile. c) Click the Library tab and click the Library Settings button.
d) Under General Settings, click List name, description and navigation . e) In the Display this document library on the Quick Launch? field, select Yes . f) Click Yes .
2) Remove a link from the Quick Launch. a) At the bottom of the Quick Launch, click EDIT LINKS . b) Click the X next to the Home link.
3) Remove a link to the Quick Launch. a) At the bottom of the Quick Launch, click +link . b) In the Text to display field, type Job Ads . c) In the Address field, type https://www.monster.com . d) Click OK .
4) Reorder the links no the Quick Launch. a) Click and drag the Policies and Procedures to the top of the Quick Launch. b) Click and drag the Events Schedule below of the Policies and Procedures. c) Click and drag the Job Ads below of the Events Schedule. d) At the bottom of the Quick Launch, click Save .
